Led by electric bassist Ayal Tsubery, this group is a sextet that has been playing together for the past year. During that time they've been mixing up Middle Eastern and Latin rhythms and melodies with modern jazz, compositional approaches, and an electric/acoustic setup that results in sophisticated, yet accessible and hard-grooving instrumental music that leaves enough room for improvisation and exciting tension between the players.

Puscifer is a side project of Maynard James Keenan from the bands Tool and A Perfect Circle. As Keenan is the only permanent member, he considers the project to be his "creative subconscious."
Puscifer is a side project of Maynard James Keenan from the bands Tool and A Perfect Circle. As Keenan is the only permanent member, he considers the project to be his "creative subconscious."
While one might imagine Keenan would have enough going on to keep him busy as a frontman with the groups Tool and A Perfect Circle, in 2007 he decided to record an album under yet another name with Puscifer. Described by Keenan as "the space where my id, ego, and anima all come together to exchange cookie recipes," Puscifer first appeared as the name of a fictional band Keenan fronted in a cameo on the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show in 1995. It wasn't until 2003 that Keenan actually recorded under the name.
Organized less as a traditional rock band, and more as a musical collective with a rotating lineup of likeminded artists, Puscifer's early recording projects featured a large cast of noted musicians, including Tim Alexander from Primus, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk from Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine, former King Crimson member Trey Gunn, violinist Lisa Germano, pop singer/songwriter Jonny Polonsky, and actress/vocalist Milla Jovovich.

Air is two musicians (Jean-Benoît Dunckel and Nicolas Godin) who are typically French yet altogether worldly. They come to Boston in support of their latest album, Love 2. Opening for Air will be AM.
Air is the duo of Frenchmen Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel. Their music is often called electronica; their form of electronic music is influenced by the synthesizer sounds of the 1970s such as Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, and Francis Lai. Other influences include psychedelic rock pioneers Pink Floyd; krautrockers Tangerine Dream; early pioneers of the Eurodance electronica subgenre Space; and French crooner Serge Gainsbourg.
The name Air is an acronym for Amour, Imagination, Rêve: love, imagination, dream.
AM's new album, Future Sons & Daughters, pays homage to the Tulsa-born, New Orleans-raised musician's diverse influences—which include Jorge Ben, Brian Wilson, Sergio Mendes, and Curtis Mayfield—while showcasing his own songwriting chops, intelligent lyrics, and psychedelic grooves. AM's debut, Troubled Times, was declared one of the Best Albums of the Year, by iTunes and earned him the title of Best Singer Songwriter of the Year by LA Weekly. AM's songs have been used in a dizzying array of movies and TV shows, including HBO's Big Love, MTV's The Hills, ABC's Brothers and Sisters, NBC's Friday Night Lights, and last year’s #1 film acquisition from the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, Ashton Kutcher's Spread. AM debuts his composing talents in the upcoming Warner Brothers release of Man Maid. For more info about the ungoogleable AM, visit amsounds.com, myspace.com/amsounds, or @amsounds on Twitter.

This annual joint concert pairs the high-energy big band music of the Urban Outreach Jazz Orchestra with Chord Scale Madness, a 10-piece group playing the music of talented student arrangers and composers.
The Urban Outreach program is a mainstay of Berklee College, and the Urban Outreach Jazz Orchestra, led by faculty member Liv Biviano, has provided an extremely active outlet for the inner-city community as well as for the members of the orchestra. This year's concert features the most impressive edition of the Outreach Orchestra in 13 years. The entire ensemble, led by drummer Dan Platzman, pianist Jordan Seigel, and bassist Katie Thiroux along with lead trumpet player Bobby Gallegos and alto saxophonist Trevor Kellum, transcends the boundaries of big-band jazz conception—extremely high-energy and not for the faint of heart.
The Chord Scale Madness concert features the writings of very talented student arrangers and composers. After a screening process, students are offered the opportunity to work with professor Jackson Schultz to fine-tune their music for performance. From that group, Schultz, with input from the 10-piece band, chooses the evening's selections.
